MILITARY SPOUSE Q+A | Base Housing, Spouse Drama, Military Benefits + OPSEC 5

I would never say like. He is going on a tvy or like exact dates. When we're pcsing or exactly like just specifics. I do share a lot with. You guys and I know that you guys appreciate. That that I'm so open and honest and like. I feel like. You guys feel like. You can relate to me a lot. Because I share so much but I would never share.

Anything that was like personal information. That I shouldn't share does. That make sense. Someone asks is it easy meeting new people / making friends with other spouses on base so no. I don't think it's hard to make friends. I think that it's hard to find people. That you click with like we've lived here almost a year and we've just. Now started to kind of make friends. That we feel like we're really clicking with and that we really get along with and want to hang out with. All the time but it's not hard to put yourself out there and honestly living on base. I feel like you're surrounded by so. Many people.

That are in the same kind of lifestyle as. You and everything like. That and I like. That and then like the spouse page on Facebook. I feel like makes. It really easy to kind of introduce yourself and find people. That you could be friends with and everything so. I don't think it's hard but I definitely think. It takes some trial and error to find people. That you kind of mesh with together well and then um. One of you guys asked is Brittany a military wife.

You guys don't know who Brittany is she's been in a few of my last videos and I post a lot about her on my social media but she's a really great friend. That I've recently made here on Eglin and yes. She is a military spouse her husband is an Air Force um. Someone asked. These last couple questions are a little bit juicier well. Some of them are but I just don't like to get into super super juicy things so I'll answer them as best as. Someone else does gossip an issue on base at all my husband and I live off-base so. You know I think.

That sometimes. You think that there's not gossip but really there is like. We find out stuff later on the spouse page. Some of the wives and even the husbands can get really mean like. If people who are just asking like a simple question like people who like rip people's heads off on their and I'm like that's why I try not to post. Anything like controversial. I just try to keep. It like real like just asking simple questions like about restaurants and stuff like.

That but um yeah people can be mean and you want to think. Because like we're grown adults but that isn't. Another case. One of you guys asked who the craziest Mel so I've met and what happened. I don't even know to say. I haven't met. Any like really crazy people but like. I definitely have. Some stories but I'm probably won't share them for a long time maybe in the future. I maybe Devon Simon anymore or something like.

That I don't know. I don't really like to cause drama or anything but I do have a few little stories maybe a little tea. I don't know okay so those are. All the questions I'm going to answer today make sure. That you subscribe for more videos. I post every Monday Wednesday and Friday. I really appreciate. You stopping by to watch. You are a new subscriber into my old subscribers hello again welcome back. You enjoy this video and leave a comment down below to let. Me know what you thought about it or if.

You have a comment on anything that I said or if. You have anything helpful to suggest to other people who may have asked the questions. That I told. You guys about so yeah. You guys thank you so much for watching and I will see. You in my next video goodbye. What am I doing here I'm longing for.

MILITARY SPOUSE Q+A | Base Housing, Spouse Drama, Military Benefits + OPSEC 4

I think but we read like a chapter a night. When Devin's off and it's been really good and we've been learning a lot together and it teaches. How to love. One another better and make. More of the time. That you have. You do have. It someone asked. You apply to get the MyCAA grant which. You don't know what that is it is the grant. That I'm using to go to Dental Assisting school right now. It up right at the top and um.

You guys you can watch. If you're interested but I explain a lot of it and I feel like it's really helpful. I worked really hard to research. That stuff so. You have any questions about that then. I oh my gosh then. I will let you go watch. That this is a good question. Someone asked. What is the least and mode. What is my least and most favorite thing about living on base PS love your channel thank you Christina your name is Christina um the my favorite thing about living on base. I have a lot of favorite things my favorite things are. That we're really close to Devon's job, he apllied there after company which make resumes - http://financejobsnearme.com/, help him. We are like I'm on base. I ever just wanted to go to like the commissary or the PX and just grab. Something quick there's a gas station on base like.

Everything that I need right here so. Anything in bad ever happened to me I could just go right over to the hospital or if like. Something happened to debit network or whatever so it's just really convenient and then my least favorite thing about living on base. I guess I would just say the ability to choose like a house off base. That we love. That we could buy and this is like totally your option. You don't have to live. One base but I would love to live in a house off base. That we own or that was like a different layout like. These houses are so cookie cutter and they're so like playing Jane. All the same so. I would love to live in like a house.

That had character or like a house with a big backyard or not being like a townhome so but there are lots of pros living on base. I like living here on base so. Someone asks are there a lot of young couples married on your base um. I have noticed. That at our last base. We didn't have. That many at all young couples like. All of our neighbors were. All in their mid to late 20s or 30s and there weren't. Many couples at all sorry. That were our age but here there are a lot of young couples so. I think every base is different but um yeah. I found that the space. We do have a lot of younger couples here so. This is the question.

That I didn't really understand but I mean. I understand. It but I'll tell. You why in a second let. Me move you guys okay. They asked with making your life so public do. You ever worry about OPSEC or per sec which. You don't know what that is it's basically like releasing information about your service member. That could be like that's secretive information. That could hurt them or like things. You just don't want to tell like a screenshot. Something from Pinterest and it says OPSEC don't share dates don't share locations don't share missions don't share.

What you were not comfortable sharing and be safe so um. I don't ever worry about this. Because I only tell. You guys what I want. You to know and so like. I would never tell. When Devon's deploying I would never say. When he's coming home.

They didn't and like. We get money for housing so. Whether you live on or off base. You use that to pay for your rent and so there's health care. That and like the service member gets uniform allowance every year let. Me know what guys down below. You can think of any other things. That I'm missing someone asked. If Devin reenlists. Where would.

You guys choose to be your next choice of living so. We had a choice. I would love to move which I've said. This before. I would love to him about West. Both would we would love to move to like Colorado or Utah or really anywhere sleeeeep. If the military told. Us we were going somewhere. I really wouldn't care. It is as long as. When Devin and I could be together and we could take Sherman. I really wouldn't mind but if. We had a choice. That was that is where. I would struggle. Because like. I would hate to have. That responsibility here is my dog oh boy here comes okay so um yeah. Me but we would love to move out west or move back to wright-patt which is in ohio which is really close to our family. This is my life.

I really don't understand okay speaking of pets. Someone asked. How easy is it to have pets and military housing kind of nervous about the pet policy dude. I don't really understand every time. He literally like what's this it right here and I don't get. It like I said every base is different but for the last two bases. That we've been at they have a two pet maximum rule and I know a lot of people like go against. That and they'll have like extra cats and stuff like. Where housing wouldn't notice but yeah they're and they usually have breed restrictions. I have heard of bases. That don't have breed restrictions but I know a lot of them do so like pit bulls or like.

What they term as vicious breeds. You know oh and our base has a pet deposit and I'm pretty sure every base has. That but I'm not sure so. We had to pay $200 for sherman's pet deposit which is probably not going to get given back to us. Because he has damaged a few things but oh my friend Demi asked are. You involved in anything on base key spouse question mark no. I am NOT and I really have no interest in being involved in anything I don't know yeah. I don't really have an interest in that someone asked. How did I learn to deal with the military comes first mentality so. You don't really understand sorry. I gosh my hair um.

You don't really understand. What that means it's kind of like. Whenever your service member is in the military like the military always comes first. They don't care about anything else like they're still gonna deploy. You they're still gonna work. You crazy hours like. Whatever it just is what it is um and I'm not the kind of person to like dwell on things or like okay sometimes. I do but like. Most like things. That happen in my life. I accept it really quickly and I just like I'm like okay that's it this is what it is and I get over. It so like lately my husband his job has been really difficult on our relationship and I've talked about that before I'm like we're doing great and everything like. That but it's just like it's been hard.

Because he's been working a ton and he's on night shift and stuff like. That and so. It does make your relationship harder but you just have to put. More effort in and enjoy the time. That you do have together and make the most out of the time. That you can spend together we've been really focusing on spending more quality time we've been reading the five love languages military edition. I read the first. One on my own and then. We were gifted a military version. I really recommend. It it focuses on the particular struggles with people. That are in military relationships and it's really good we've liked learned a lot and we're kind of like in the fifth chapter.

MILITARY SPOUSE Q+A | Base Housing, Spouse Drama, Military Benefits + OPSEC 2

You know what the weight is like. Some bases have a really long wait list. Some bases have no wait list at all so. It could be different and it depends on the time of the year there is a PCS season which I believe is like spring and summer like. Most people are pcsing and so usually during those times wait lists are longer but I know. I got a question. That said did. I like write Pat's based housing or aliens based housing better. I think you know there's pros and cons to.

Both but I think. I like Eggland's better. Because it's new the house. That I live in at lease is new and so it's a little bit nicer. We have had a lot of issues living here and like mold and stuff but that's just the area. That we live in and a lot of times based housing are poorly and cheaply built. These put they put. These suckers up like in a week or less like for real so. That answers. All of your questions sorry. It was kind of quick but I knew.

That would be the question. I spent the longest on oh. This is a good. One someone asked do. I feel comfortable asking for military discounts no. I don't and I know that there's a lot of controversy with. This and I don't really know why because. I think a lot of people or some people feel like military spouses shouldn't get the discount which is totally fine and not every place offers military discount but I always ask. Because a discount is a discount and like for example the nail salon. I go to offers a military discount so. I always ask for it.

You go out to eat a lot of places a lot of places do give a 10 to 20 percent military discount which is awesome and if they say no. I say ok just was asking or whatever like. I don't get bothered. If there is it but I never feel awkward asking I just say hey do. You guys happen to have a military discount and they'll. Either say yes or no. Someone asked have. I ever thought about joining myself uh no. Another question was. What are some of the things.

That the military provides grocery money lawn care benefits etc so health care is the same overall and we do have free health care which is nice but it's not always the best health care. You can choose to do TRICARE select which is different. Than tricare prime check out prime means. That you don't pay. Anything it's all free but you have to go on base and then or they can refer. You like off-base places but you have to go to the doctor on base first and then.

You do TRICARE select which is the other option. You pay co-pays but you can choose your own doctors off base and whatnot a lot of women who are having babies decide to use TRICARE select I'm sorry. They like changed. All this recently the names of stuff so please don't like be mean to me I just I'm tell. I have Tricare Prime so.

I don't know a whole lot about select but that means. You can choose your own doctors go off base and whatnot but you do pay a little bit of co-pays and then as far as like lawn care and said like. You live on base every base is different our last base. They did not provide lawn care for us but at this base. They do so they cut our grass for us and at our last place.

MILITARY SPOUSE Q+A | Base Housing, Spouse Drama, Military Benefits + OPSEC 1

hey guys welcome back to my channel my name is Victoria. You are new here today's video is going to be a military-related Q&A;. You are new here. I am a military wife my husband Evan is in the Air Force and we are currently stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and also disclaimer ignore. What I look like. I swear most of the time. I look better.

You have anything to say about my hair don't know. I crack myself up no but seriously my house is like messy and I am not feeling too hot today also the glare of my glasses I'm sorry. If that's annoying but they help. Me to see and also. I look like. This I feel like my glasses make. Me cuter anyone else ok so today's video is going to be a Q&A;. I asked you all over on my Instagram to send. Me your questions about military related things. Because I feel like. I haven't done a like military related kind of video in a while or maybe. I have but I feel like. I haven't you are curious about that then let's go ahead and get started so. You guys delivered ok.

You guys gave. Many questions so. That I'm not gonna be able to answer a lot of them but I'm just gonna go through and pick the ones. That I feel like y'all would want to know the answer to the most let's just sorry I'm using my hands a lot today let's just start off with the most asked question. All about base housing on military bases and so. I got a lot of different ones like can. You explain the process with getting on base housing do. I have to go on a wait list for housing what do. I think of the housing that we live in now. How does the base housing process work so let. Me just try to sum up. This question in a short answer. Now before I answer.

Any of these questions. I do want to tell. You guys that I'm not an expert I've only been a military spouse for a little under 3 years and so. I don't know. Everything and I've only been at been stationed about two different bases with my husband so. I don't know. Everything and I know that certain bases have different rules and things like. That so don't quote. Me for everything on this I just know what I know from. What I've experienced but yeah. You I I feel confident saying that you have to go in a wait a wait list for base housing wherever. Now for here.

We were on a wait list for six months. Because we had orders six months prior to moving here and then. We moved to wright-patt in Ohio. We were on a waiting list but they had houses available right away so. We didn't like have to wait at all and so. We got a house right away so every base is different and then basically like. It goes is once your husband or wife has hard orders meaning that they have printed out orders. That they can fax over to housing or whatever you can email housing at the base you're going to and give them your orders and like other information. That they ask for and then. They put you on the waitlist and then. They will let.
